Bach Geistliche Lieder. Cuenod. Roessel-Majdan Vol 3
Here is the next installment, volume 3 in the ongoing Bach Geistliche Leider with Hugues Cuenod and Hilde Roessel-Majdan.
I changed preamps between this post and the last, volume 2. There is some improvement, I think, although I hope it is not so drastic as to spoil the four renovations as a "set". I will compare the discs I have burned, and if I think it is a problem, I will redo the first two, though I do not promise that any time soon. They all sound pretty good, though, even if they end up not being an exact match.

Hi Zac
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded and successfully unpacked the FLAC zip file for Volume 3. Try it once more; if there is still a problem I'll re-upload anyway. But the file seems to be fine. May something went wrong during download and you lost some packets.
No problem downloading here. Thanks so much for this invaluable series!
ReplyDeleteNo problem downloading here. Thanks again for this invaluable series!
ReplyDeleteHi Al
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know.
Nice, Larry,
ReplyDeleteRichard Harand was principal cello of the Wiener Symphoniker, a lesser orchestra than the Philharmoniker though a very good one, and he plays the 2nd cello part on a recording of the Schubert C Major Quintet alongside the Vienna Philharmonic Quartet, which I uploaded a long while back.
Thanks Squirrel: I can't keep up downloading the things I like, but I'll go doneload your Schubert with Richard Harand now. I had remarked on the cello in these songs but did not then go do my homework. Glad you did. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this and all the wonderful music that you share.
ReplyDeleteHi Larry, I was just stopping in to say "How've you been?" Hope all is well!
ReplyDeleteHi Squirrel. Thanks for inquiring. Aside from being very, very busy, I'm just fine. I'm hoping to get back to restoring music for the blog by mid-September. I notice you've been busy, with a number of things I want to download. Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the Haydn quartet project, which has taken me much too long, but that has been determined by my schedule.
ReplyDeleteLarry,
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean the Schnieder Haydn project is back under your domain, or are you helping with the CD release? In any case, I am thrilled that those may soon be available in a complete edition. It's been a long time coming.
Hi Squirrel: It means I'm finishing up the work on the CD edition that Music and Arts plans to release later in the Fall. I should have finished it up long ago, but -- alas! -- I have to make a living, and it's been intruding too much into my real life in 2011. I'll be very excited to see the recordings, to which I am devoted, issued in a complete set.
ReplyDeleteDear friend: There's no the texts of the vol 3. can you upload it, please? Thanks. Gus.
ReplyDeletejocanaan@hotmail.com
I'm checking the number of Gesitleiche Lieder. There're 75. In your post there'are 57. The rest? can you upload? best regards. gus.
ReplyDeleteThey are 69 or 57 Geistlich lieder?
ReplyDeleteBWV 439 to 507?
Thank you.
Dear Lawrence,
ReplyDeletewhat fantastic singers this were! You have to search hard to find comparable singers today. Did you ever manage to transfer vol.4 of this series? Would be grat to have the whole set together!
Thanks for your efforts here and elsewhere.
Stay safe
Bo
Dear Lawrence,
ReplyDeletethanks for the restauratons - how much were you involved in the Haydn SQ project? It's a full success.
After this break can you resume the work on the Bach Lieder and transfer the fourth and last LP. Would be great to be able to listen to these great artists!
I finally did locate a volume 4 LP and have just recorded it with Audacity to my hard drive. It's next in line for restoration, and then the fussy task of dividing the tracks and naming them. But it's on its way.
